Research Associates (RAs) volunteer in the emergency department:

• identifying patients and thier visitors eligible for enrollment in our studies
• providing information about the studies to the potential participants
• collecting data from participants' histories and physical findings
• facilitating the completion of the research

Why come to the emergency department to work in clinical research?

• Emergency Medicine is the specialty caring for the acutely sick and injured
• Research in Emergency Medicine addresses fundamental issues in clinical medicine.
• The emergency department is the "safety net" for all to access medical care.
• Research in this setting can improve health care delivery for millions coming to emergency departments across the U.S.
