The Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent's Medical Center recruits college students and graduates to join our research efforts in the emergency department

Research Associates (RAs) volunteer in the emergency department:

  • identifying patients and visitors who are eligible for enrollment in our studies
  • reading information about the studies to the potential participants
  • collecting study data from participants' histories and physical findings
  • facilitating the completion of the research


Why come to the emergency department to work in clinical research?

Emergency Medicine is the specialty caring for the acutely sick and injured


Research in Emergency Medicine addresses fundamental issues in clinical medicine.


The emergency department is the "safety net" for all to access medical care.

Research in this setting can identify fundamental issues of health care delivery

 


  

Summer Semester 1 2012 application deadline: Friday, 05/25/12

  • Orientation: Saturday and Sunday, June 2nd and 3rd  (8am-5pm)

                                shifts begin: Monday, June 4th

                                last day of shifts: Sunday, August 12th

 

Summer Semester 2 2012 application deadline: Friday, 06/08/12

  • Orientation: Saturday and Sunday, June 16th and 17th (8am-5pm)

                                 shifts begin: Monday, June 18th

                                 last day of shifts: Sunday, August 26th
